Caperfin's Elemental Shaman PvE Guide | Phase 1 |

Hi, my name is Caperfin. Today, we'll be looking at our dear totemic friend, the shaman. In the past, when the topic of shamans are brought up in PvE the default immediate thought is to talked about a healing shaman. And the legitimacy of a shaman dealing a significant amount of damage in PvE as a caster was disregarded. However, with a game that has been theorycrafted for over a decade this dated notion has now been buried with the advent of modern tools. Before continuing, its important to remember you are not only going a certain route but also playing a class that demands a great deal of effort for players to recognize. An elemental shaman in a raid has the ability to not only provide a decent amount of personal damage but also the capability of supporting other teammates. Unfortunately, the gear we desire is also desired by other casters. Therefore, I suggest acquiring this type of gear while assuming the role of a healing restoration shaman in the raid. For the sake of generality and simplicity the talent setup assumes a server between patch 1.9 - 1.12 and taking part in a serious guild who are confidently clearing raids. The first talent setup is ideal for short fights. The second talent setup is ideal for long fights and really sky rockets with world buffs. Note: Green Lens & Pyremail Wristguards have a random bonus every time they're looted. We are interested in the +damage bonus to nature spells. I hope you liked this build, if you'd like to see videos about similar topics. Check out: https://www.youtube.com/caperfin

Pure Spell Damage Gear (short fights)

Explanations

Its random bonus can be +nature damage. (This will take a long time to get, so I suggest inv_helmet_47Spellpower Goggles Xtreme Plus or in very close third inv_crown_01Dreamweave Circlet )

Spell hit is always good and this also provide Spell Damage.

Is needed by many other casters out there, so consider the less powerful inv_misc_cape_20Spritecaster Cape

Its random bonus can be +nature damage. It will take time to get, so consider the less powerful inv_bracer_16Earthfury Bracers

Highly sought after but worth in the end since it can also be used as a healing weapon. If you absolutely can't get it than aim for inv_staff_31Witch Doctor's Cane

Has a random bonus to give +spell damage but hard to obtain since it has a low drop chance. If you absolutely can't get it than aim for the less powerful inv_ore_arcanite_02Spirit of Aquementas

Gives a pure increase in Nature Damage.

Spell hit is always good and this also provide Spell Damage.

These are GODLY as the margin between the second best pants is massive.

Can be hard to get, so consider inv_jewelry_ring_11Band of the Unicorn another world drop or the less powerful inv_jewelry_ring_08Cyclopean Band

Spell Damage

Synergizes well with the Spell Critical Strike we get from talents.

Spell Damage

Gives a pure increase in Nature Damage.

A good chunk of Spell Damage and gives Intellect as a byproduct.

HONORABLE MENTION: we have no idea how classic wow treats this item, it could scale with nature damage or talents which would make it very powerful, so keep an eye out for any news regarding items like this.
